Martin Mere & Mere Sands

A bit more birding this week, this time inside Martin Mere and Mere Sands, rather than walking past them. Although hundreds of Geese were flying over in Vs very few birds were actually visible from the various hides. Swan Link was positively deserted (and blowing a gale through the windows). The mere was very high and parts of the reserve had been flooded. The star birds of the day were Moorhens and a good show from the Kingfisher at (appropriately) Kingfisher Hide.

The Kingfisher theme continued, with multiple sightings around Mere Sands (whether it was the same one following us around or multiple birds, we don't know). Also some Cormorants flapping around in the water. Strong light, never in the right direction, so nothing fantastic but some good sightings.
