Abbey Village

A new walk, near Chorley (Max and Paddy country). Taking in some forests, reservoirs and hills.
We were trying out our new camera but it was a very dull and overcast day. This combined with dull, brown moors things were looking bleak until near the end in Sunnyhurst Wood where we found some Himalayan Balsam (always good for a few insects) and the most gloriously fungus-festooned log we've ever seen. Even spending an hour working on it I still don't think we did it justice.

Rufford

Another revisit to the walk around Rufford, taking in Martin Mere and Mere Sands. Another hot, sunny day and a very long walk (11 miles according to GPS).
