A walk up and around Moel Arthur and From-haul. We made up the route, following the Offa's Dyke Path north, then coming back on the Clwydian Way, starting at Moel Arthur. We thought we'd tack on a circle around Fron-haul if we had time. Boy, was that a bad idea.

The circle at the top left of the map looks innocuous enough, but if you're more observant than we were you'll notice that it crosses a number of contour lines. The brief jaunt adds 3miles, which isn't so bad, but a good 1100ft of climbing, which is, especially on top of the 2000ft for the rest of the route. The lesson is to pay more attention to your maps before setting out!
Extremely sunny with not a cloud in the sky all day long. The views were obscured by a low-lying layer of murky haze.
I really do not like slogging up hills under relentless, brutal sunshine. Some people consider this 'nice': they must be mad (dogs or Englishmen).
